Prison Baby Born Without Inmates Meeting Once

Two prison inmates made a baby without meeting face-to-face using air vents, saran wrap, and serious dedication.

Two prison inmates conceive a baby without meeting, using an air vent between separate cells.
A woman inmate holds her baby in one cell while the father, in another, looks through the air vent they used to communicate.

You’ve heard of long-distance love, but this right here? This is next level. Two inmates at a Florida prison somehow made a baby—without ever touching each other. Using a wild mix of saran wrap, bedsheets, a string, and some serious imagination, they pulled off something most people thought was impossible. Welcome to a story so unbelievable, it feels like it was written for TV.

They Met Through a Vent—Literally

Daisy Link and Joan Depaz were both locked up at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami-Dade County. They were on different floors. Different cells. And yet, a vent system—yep, the kind that blows air—connected their rooms. Through that vent, they started talking. And talking. For hours a day.

It started as two voices in the dark. But over time, they bonded. Deeply. They joked, they dreamed, and eventually they started planning something big—a baby.

A DIY Baby Plan Like No Other

Once Link revealed she wanted to become a mom, Depaz got creative. Real creative. They realized the vent was more than a way to talk. It could be used to send things. Small things.

So, Depaz filled a glove with his semen and passed it through the vent. Sounds wild, right? He did this five times a day, every day, for an entire month. Link then used a yeast infection applicator to insert it into herself. That’s how she got pregnant—while doing time in prison—without ever meeting the father face-to-face.

Against all odds… it worked.

Doctors Were Shocked. The Baby? Perfectly Healthy.

After a few tries, Link found out she was pregnant. The prison staff and doctors were stunned. No one could figure out how it had happened—until Link explained the whole setup.

Incredibly, the baby girl was born healthy and strong. She’s now five months old and living with her paternal grandmother. Link calls her a “miracle baby” and even compared herself to the Virgin Mary. Meanwhile, Depaz told her:

“If I had to choose somebody to have a baby with, it would be you.”

That’s a love story with a serious twist.

A Story So Wild It Feels Like a Movie

Let’s be real—this sounds like a script from the Lifetime Movie Network. Even Link says people tell her that all the time. You’ve got two inmates, a high-security prison, an air vent, and a baby created through pure determination and teamwork.

Whether you think it’s sweet, strange, or just plain shocking—it’s unforgettable.

The prison has since opened an investigation to figure out how this all happened under their noses. And Depaz? He’s been moved to a different facility.

When There’s a Will…

This story proves one thing: if people want something badly enough, they’ll find a way. It may not be traditional. It may not even make sense to most of us. But it worked. These two inmates defied the odds, bent the rules, and brought a new life into the world—using nothing but creativity, patience, and an air vent.
